6-year MD program

6-year MD program in English

The 6-year MD program is offered to high school graduates, Bachelor holders and students enrolled at a institute of higher education.

The program is adopted to the EU standards (according to the Directive of the European Parliament 2005/36/EC) and offers over 5700 hours of learning in general medicine, pre-clinical and clinical courses.

Applicants whose native language is not English will be required to show proof of English proficience with one of the following certificates:

IELTS  min. 6,0 points,
TOEFL min. 90 points,

TOEIC 
min. 700 points,
CEFR  B2 level.


Applicants with a high school diploma from a Scandinavian country must have the following marks in English proficiency possessed on their high school-leaving examination certificate are as follows:
Norway: min. grade 4,
Sweden: min. grade C,
Denmark: min. grade 7.

     

Medical University of Warsaw English Division Admission Rules:

1. Applicants with a foreign (not issued in Poland) high school diploma, Bachelor degree or are enrolled in a program at a institute of higher education must sit our entrance exam or present BMAT scores.

The entrance exam is in English and consists of 100 MCQ questions in Biology at higher level (35 questions), Chemistry at higher level (35 questions) and Physics at standard level (30 questions).

Entrance exam dates and locations for 2019/2020 recruitment will be posted shortly.


2. Foreign applicants (non-Polish citizens) with an  IB Diploma (International  Baccalaureate - document issued by the International Baccalaureate Organization in Geneva, Switzerland ) or EB Diploma (European Baccalaureate - document issued to the graduates of the European schools for the employees of the European Union Institutions only, Brussels) will be assessed based on their results from their final exam in:

Biology (Higher level)
Chemistry (Higher level)
Physics or Math (Standard Level)

If applicant is missing one of the above required subjects, applicant may sit the entrance exam  for only one missing subject. Applicant chooses this option in the online registration process.

3. 
Polish citizens with a high school diploma issued in Poland must apply through Medical University of Warsaw Polish recruitment process (https://rekrutacja-info.wum.edu.pl/).  Once accepted to the Polish medical program, applicants are able to request a transfer to the English Division 6-year MD program.

 
Note: Transfer students from
Medical University of Warsaw Polish full-time studies in medicine do not pay the full English Division tuition fee because it is partially refunded by the Ministry.  The amount is announced at the beginning of each academic year in Polish złotys (PLN) https://2wl.wum.edu.pl/en/6-year-program/fees

Transfer students from Medical University of Warsaw Polish part-time studies in medicine pay the full English Division tuition fee in the amount of  11 100 EUR.

2. Fill in the required fields in the on-line registration system.

Completed fields will be marked in green. Uncompleted fields are marked in red.

Remember to choose a date and place for the entrance exam.

3.  Follow the instructions and enclose the required documents including:

  • English language certificate,
  • copy of your valid passport,
  • confirmation of the application fee payment
  • and other documents requested by the registration system.

4. Check the data and save each completed field correctly. Completed fields will be marked in green. Uncompleted fields are marked in red.

5.  Pay by bank transfer (only) the application fee in the amount of 200,00 EUR (non-refundable) using your individual  account number generated by the on-line registartion system.

Note: Medical University of Warsaw bank account is in EUR only. Please make sure that the amount in a foreign currency is transfered to the required amount in EUR .

Note: All the information about the course and results of the admission process will be available ONLY on the Applicant’s on-line recruitment account. It means that information put there shall be deemed given and binding.

 

Please note that the only way to register and apply for Medical Studies in English in the Medical University of Warsaw is on-line – via the on-line admission system. We will not accept other forms of application.

The University is not responsible for incorrectly completed application.

The University is not eligible to inform third parties by phone.


Upon acceptance for admission an applicant is obliged to submit the following documents:

1. Completed on-line application form (form available on the web page: http://2wl.wum.edu.pl/en/node/831)

2. Declaration of the payment of university fee (form available on the web page: http://2wl.wum.edu.pl/en/node/831)

3. Official high school-leaving examination certificate or other certificate qualifying to apply for a university course must be certified with an affixed apostille:
   a.  Apostille in the case of documents issued in the countries that are party to the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961.
   b. Applicants holding IB/EB Diploma do not need to have apostille on official high school-leaving examination certificate.
4. School certification of the students right to apply for admission to higher education institutions – if there is no possibility to get signature and stamp from high school exceptionally the Embassy can sign and stamp the document ( form available on the web page:

5. English language certificate only for applicants whose native language is not English should provide one of the below certificates:
IELTS exam passed with no less than 6,0 points,
TOEFL exam passed with no less than 90 points,
CEFR exam on B2 level,

TOEIC exam passed with no less than 700 points.


Minimal requirements for Scandinavian applicants with regards to their English proficiency possessed on their high school-leaving examination certificate are as follows:
Minimal grade for Norwegian applicants: 4,
Minimal grade for Swedish applicants: C,
Minimal grade for Danish applicants: 7      

       

6.  Photocopy of a valid passport signed by notary.

7.  Health certificate completed by a physician stating that the applicant is fit for the medical studies (form available on the web page: http://2wl.wum.edu.pl/en/node/831

a. copy of vaccination records for Hepatitis B (three does)

b. result from Salmonella & Shigella test.

9.  Four passport size photographs (3,5 x 5,0 cm)

10. Confirmation of the application fee payment amounting to 200,00 EUR (non-refundable)

11.  American and Canadian citizens are additionally requested to deliver a copy of their Social Security Number.

12. Proof of health insurance valid in Poland (EHIC for EU citizens).

13. Copy of a student visa or other document confirming that the stay in Poland is legal.

 

All the submitted documents must be certify translated to English also should be originals or copies certified by a notary.

Please be aware that applicants who submit incomplete and/or incorrect documents will not be admitted to University by the Admission Board.
